Southern Services - Caritas Training Centre
As part of the Brothers of Charity (Southern Services) Services to Adults, Caritas Training Centre provides
vocational training for adults with an intellectual disability.
Training and education are the two primary routes available to those with disabilities toward realising
their full potential. The Caritas Foundation Level Training Programme provides the participants with the
basic personal, social and work-related skills which will enable each trainee make a successful transition
from dependency to greater levels of adult independence.
At present, Caritas has 28 Southern Health Board funded training places. The programme provides training
in:
Catering
Woodwork
Computers
Arts and Crafts
Independent Living Skills
Personal and Interpersonal Skills
Remedial Education
Work Experience
