Southern Services - Schools under the Patronage of the Brothers of Charity

There are currently five special schools in Cork under the Patronage of the Brothers of Charity.

These schools are:-

  • Our Lady of Good Counsel School (Children with a moderate level of intellectual disability)
  • Triest School (Children with communication orders and on the autistic spectrum (ASD)
  • St. Mary’s School (Children with mild intellectual disability)
  • St. Gabriel’s School (Children with severe/profound intellectual disability, including such children with autism)
  • Sonas Special Preschool (Children aged 3 – 6 years with ASD)

    Educational inputs are provided by the Department of Education and Science. We provide multidisciplinary support services, respite and other health supports to the children attending these schools are funded primarily by the Department of Health & Children, via the Southern Health Board.
