SOUTH TIPPERARY SERVICES

Summary of Services
Brothers of Charity Services in South Tipperary provide a range of services across the life span to people with Intellectual Disability with complex needs including those individuals with additional needs such as Autism, Physical and Sensory Disability. Services include Multi-Disciplinary assessment and intervention, early intervention services, child development centres, respite and residential services to children, young people and adults. Services are provided to those living in the South Tipperary LHO area. Services have been delivered by the Brothers of Charity Services in South Tipperary since 1999.

Service Mission and Aims
In keeping with the mission of the Brothers of Charity Services the services in South Tipperary aim to provide a person-centred response to those with a disability and strive to create opportunities and choices that develop and maintain connected lives where all are cherished as valued and equal citizens in our communities.
In honouring this mission we aim to provide services that;
• promote independence and provide quality care based on individual needs and requirements,
• strives to fulfil the personal, spiritual, social and psychological needs of those using the services,
• is rooted in community participation in line with individual needs and wishes,
• provide a person centred approach where each person has an individualised plan which identifies their support requirements and their wishes for the future and
• promote a partnership approach to delivering services engaging with advocates, family members and the wider community.

Eligibility criteria
Individuals must be residing in the South Tipperary catchment area and for those age 5+ yrs must have a formal diagnosis of intellectual disability with complex needs.

Referrals
Referrals are accepted from parents/guardians/clinicians/the adult with a disability.
Referrals can be made in writing to the Director of Services at the following;
Director of Services, Brothers of Charity Services, Belmont Park, Ferrybank, Waterford.

Organisational Structure
South Tipperary Services are under the umbrella of the South East Region of the Brothers of Charity Services with the South Tipperary Regional Services Manager reporting to the Director of Services in Waterford.
Services are delivered in South Tipperary with the support of the Senior Management Team comprising the Regional Services Manager, three Service Managers and the Head of the Social Work Department and the Head of the Psychology Department.

The Child and Family Centre is the central administrative base for the South Tipperary Services and the offices of the Regional Services Manager, Heads of Psychology and Social Work Departments and Multi-Disciplinary personnel are located here.

Multi-Disciplinary services are provided by the Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychology Department, Social Work Deparment and Speech and Language Therapy Department as follows;
• to adults with intellectual disability who use our services – all clinicians.
• to adults with an intellectual disability in the moderate to severe/profound range in the South Tipperary area – Consultant Psychiatrist.
• to children with an intellectual disability or suspected intellectual disability Psychology and Social Work in collaboration with HSE colleagues under the programme Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People.

Services supported by Nagle Services are spread throughout the South Tipperary area. Services provided include;
• Adult Day Services – adults aged 18 ys + with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism, Physical Disability, Behaviour Support needs.
• Adult Residential Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism and Dementia.
• Adult Supported Living Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability with low support needs.

• Adult Day Services – adults aged 18 ys + with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism, Physical Disability, Behaviour Support needs.
• Adult Residential Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism and Dementia.
• Adult Home Based Direct Support Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs and who prefer to receive support services in their home setting.

Services supported by Boherduff Services are spread throughout the South Tipperary area. Services provided include;
• Early Intervention Home Based Programme – children aged 0-3yrs at risk of intellectual disability.
• Child Development Centres – children aged 2.5-5yrs with complex needs with intellectual disability or suspicion of intellectual disability.
• Children’s Centre Based Respite Service, Clonmel – children aged 2.5-18yrs with complex needs with intellectual disability.
• Children’s Residential Service – children up to 18 yrs with complex needs with intellectual disability.
• Adult Day Services – adults aged 18 ys + with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism, Behaviour Support needs.
• Rehabilitative Training Service (3 year programme) – Adults aged 18yrs + with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism and Physical Disability,
• Adult Residential Services – adults aged 18yrs+ with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs such as Autism and Physical Disability.
• Child and Adult Home Based Direct Support Services – children and adults with intellectual disability including those with specialist needs and who prefer to receive support services in their home setting.
